Camarillo, CA (Oct. 15, 2019) – Saalex Corporation (Saalex) has launched internship program partnerships with Cerro Coso Community College, California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) and other regional universities and colleges to drive workforce development in our local communities.
Saalex plans to consider student applicants from the following subjects and/or majors and other disciplines as opportunity or availability for intern-related work arises: Computer Science, Cyber-related, Electronics, Electrical, Information Technology, Mechatronics, Math-related, Technical Writing and Digital Marketing. Current major recruitment areas includes data and systems-based roles, a variety of technicians, engineers and managers, primarily to work on three major programs with the Navy at Naval Base Ventura County and China Lake, in IT, weapons development and range test and support. Headquartered in Camarillo, CA, Saalex supports the Department of Defense and federal government, and services commercial and municipal clients in various U.S. markets.
Currently celebrating its 20th anniversary, Saalex is a pillar of both Ventura and Kern counties, growing to be the largest defense contractor and third largest employer in the Ridgecrest, CA area. Rockledge, FL and Camarillo, CA (Oct. 7, 2019) – Saalex Corporation has announced the promotion of Garrison Thompson to the new position of Vice President/Chief Operating Officer, as well as the promotion of Robert Bezduch to Director of Programs. These role refinements are part of an ongoing growth strategy as Saalex transitions from a small to large company.
Prior to this promotion, Mr. Thompson served as Saalex’s Director of Process Improvement and Integration and was responsible for enterprise transformation initiatives. Mr. Thompson has over 30 years of experience in the aerospace/defense, systems development and commercial technology industries. He has led and planned infrastructure upgrades, software and hardware product deployments and strategic operations as a leader in Fortune 100 companies. Before joining Saalex, Mr. Thompson served as a program manager, vice president and business development leader, engaging with senior executives and flag officers as well as defining strategic solutions for technical services efforts. He has also served as Chief Engineer for numerous Army range training and Air Force space lift range systems modernization and sustainment contracts. In 2002, NASA awarded Mr. Thompson the agency’s highest recognition, the Space Flight Awareness Launch Honoree Award for STS 111. Mr. Thompson is a Project Management Professional, a Lean Six Sigma Certified Black Belt, ITILv3 Foundations Certified and a Cisco Certified Network Associate. He holds a B.S. (with Honors) in Aviation Management and an M.S. in Systems Management from the Florida Institute of Technology.
