Saalex Corporation Awarded Position on Navy Cyberspace Science, Research, Engineering and Technology Integration Multiple Award Contract

Seven-Year MAC Supports NIWC Pacific Across the Full Spectrum of Cyberspace Operations

Washington, D.C. (August 14, 2026) – Saalex Corporation, an advanced technology systems integrator for the aerospace, defense, and federal sectors, today announced it has been awarded a position on the U.S. Navy’s Cyberspace Science, Research, Engineering and Technology Integration Unrestricted Multiple Award Contract (MAC). Issued by Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific), the contract carries a period of performance running from August 12, 2026 through August 11, 2033.

NIWC Pacific is the Navy’s principal research, development, test and evaluation and acquisition center for C4ISR and information operations. The MAC gives the command a vehicle to issue task orders across the architecture, engineering, and interoperability of cyberspace operations systems at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels, covering applied research, systems engineering and integration, software and hardware prototyping, modeling and simulation, test and evaluation, training, and security engineering. Work will span offensive, defensive, and Department of Defense Information Network operations, with secure development practices integrated across the software lifecycle through DevSecOps methodologies.

“Cyberspace is where a growing share of the fight is going to be decided, and NIWC Pacific is at the center of how the Navy gets after it,” said Travis Mack, Chairman and CEO of Saalex Corporation. “This award puts us in position to compete for the work that turns research and engineering into capability the warfighter can actually use, on a timeline that matters. It also reflects where we have been investing as a company, in cyber, in AI, and in secure software delivery. Seven years is a long runway, and we intend to use it.”

Saalex will perform as prime contractor. The award builds on the company’s existing portfolio of Navy engineering, cybersecurity, and software modernization work.

The regional award recognizes organizations across the Greater Washington area that have built outstanding, people-first cultures. WTOP News, together with Federal News Network, reaches a large audience of government, defense, and federal contracting professionals across the National Capital Region, making this honor particularly meaningful for organizations serving the federal mission community. Winners will be celebrated at the WTOP Top Workplaces gala in Tysons Corner.

The winners are determined by authentic employee feedback captured through a confidential survey conducted by Energage, the HR research and technology company behind the Top Workplaces program since 2006. The survey measures the employee experience across themes such as employees feeling Respected & Supported, Enabled to Grow, and Empowered to Execute. Results are calculated based on employee responses to statements about Workplace Experience Themes, which are proven indicators of high performance.

“Being recognized as a Top Workplace in the Greater Washington area carries real weight for us,” said Travis Mack, Chairman and CEO of Saalex Corporation. “This is the heart of the federal mission community, and our team here works alongside the customers and partners who depend on us every day. When that same team tells WTOP that Saalex is a place where they feel respected, supported, and trusted to do their best work, that’s the recognition that matters most.”

“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, CEO of Energage. “That’s something to be proud of. In today’s market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That’s paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”

Huntsville, Ala. (May 28th, 2026) – Saalex Corporation, an Advanced Technology Systems Integrator for the aerospace, defense, and federal sectors, today announced its expansion into Huntsville, Alabama, with a new office that strengthens the employee-owned company’s footprint in one of the most important defense and aerospace markets in the United States.

Known as “Rocket City,” the Huntsville region is home to one of the highest concentrations of degreed engineers per capita in the nation, and a dense defense and aerospace ecosystem anchored by Redstone Arsenal and Cummings Research Park. The area also serves as a hub for NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, making it a natural fit for Saalex’s work across the defense, space, and intelligence markets.

“Few regions in the country can match what North Alabama offers in engineering talent, mission focus, and proximity to our customers,” said Travis Mack, Chairman and CEO of Saalex Corporation. “The momentum across the defense and aerospace sectors here is hard to overstate, and putting down roots in Huntsville places our team alongside the people and missions at the center of so much of our work. We are proud to invest in this community and to help shape what comes next.”

Saalex’s move into North Alabama follows growing engagement with Alabama’s congressional leadership. Mack recently met with Congressman Dale Strong, whose Fifth District includes Huntsville, and presented him with a Saalex challenge coin to mark the company’s arrival in the community. Mack also met with House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers to discuss strengthening the nation’s defense industrial base and the role employee-owned companies like Saalex can play in that effort.

As an employee-owned company with nearly 1,000 employee-owners, Saalex continues to expand its presence in key defense and aerospace markets to bring its technology, engineering, and mission-support capabilities closer to its customers.

Saalex Corporation Launches ASCENT Innovation Lab to Accelerate Software Modernization and AI-Driven Solutions for Defense Customers

Cloud-Based Lab Enables Rapid Prototyping, DevSecOps Delivery, and AI Integration to Get Capabilities to the Warfighter Faster

Washington, D.C. (April 22, 2026) – Saalex Corporation, an Advanced Technology Systems Integrator for the aerospace, defense, and federal sectors, today announced the launch of the ASCENT (Advanced Systems, Cloud Engineering and Next Gen Technologies) Innovation Lab, a secure cloud-based environment designed to bridge innovation with operational delivery for defense and government customers.

The ASCENT Innovation Lab provides Saalex development teams with a governed, production-line environment for rapid prototyping, designing, testing, and scaling digital solutions from concept through operational delivery. Built on secure cloud architecture with DevSecOps pipelines, the lab integrates machine learning and AI capabilities while maintaining cybersecurity compliance guardrails that mirror government requirements.

“The ASCENT Innovation Lab represents the kind of bold investment that sets Saalex apart,” said Travis Mack, Chairman and CEO of Saalex Corporation. “While larger contractors are still planning their digital transformation, we are already building, testing, and delivering AI-driven solutions in a secure cloud environment. Our customers need capabilities faster, and this lab gives our team the tools and infrastructure to move at the speed the mission demands.”

A core focus of the lab is automation and software modernization, taking costly legacy systems, analyzing them with advanced tooling, and reconstructing them as microservices that can be independently deployed and updated without risk to the broader system. This approach allows Saalex to dramatically accelerate the delivery of finished capabilities to the warfighter.

“The traditional measure in software development has always been velocity and story points, but what really matters is how quickly finished capabilities reach the warfighter,” said Kimberly Toy, Director, Program Operations at Saalex Corporation. “Where some teams deliver as few as two releases a year, our approach through the ASCENT Lab enables three or more releases per day. By adopting cloud infrastructure and breaking apart monolithic applications into purpose-built microservices, we are getting the latest requirements through our pipelines within hours, not months.”

The ASCENT Innovation Lab heavily leverages FedRAMP-compliant AI-native integrated development environment that accelerates software creation, cutting traditional development cycles from months or years down to days or weeks. It also supports the creation of Digital Workforce Agents, Unattended Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and the modernization of legacy monolithic applications into efficient microservices architectures. The lab seamlessly integrates with Saalex’s recently launched Saalex AI Management System (SAIMS), providing access to advanced AI capabilities across environments.

The lab is accessible from any location through cloud-based authentication and is currently being used to develop prototypes, including digital workforce agents, that can be demonstrated to customers.

Saalex Corporation CEO Travis Mack Named 2026 Diversity in Business Honoree

Saalex Corporation is proud to announce that CEO and Chairman Travis Mack has been named a 2026 Diversity in Business Honoree by the Washington Business Journal.
The Diversity in Business Awards recognize leaders who champion diversity, equity, and inclusion while driving meaningful impact across the Greater Washington business community. Honorees are selected for their leadership, influence, and commitment to fostering inclusive workplaces that strengthen both organizations and the broader regional economy.
Throughout Saalex’s evolution, Mack has built more than a high-performing technology company—he has cultivated a culture where innovation thrives, diverse perspectives are embraced, and employees are empowered to lead. This commitment continues to shape Saalex’s growth and reinforces its position as a forward-leaning provider of advanced technology solutions supporting national priorities.
This recognition is particularly significant given the competitiveness of the Greater Washington region, one of the nation’s leading hubs for government and defense technology. It underscores Saalex’s continued growth and impact, recently highlighted by its ranking among the largest government technology contractors in the region.
