Camarillo, CA and Rockledge, FL (August 25, 2023) – Saalex Corporation’s Expendable Launch Vehicle Integration Services (ELVIS) 3 team will be providing critical support services for NASA’s groundbreaking Psyche mission, scheduled to launch this October.
The Psyche mission’s objective is to explore the metal-rich asteroid of the same name while also testing the revolutionary Deep Space Optical Communications (DSOC) system. The DSOC technology is designed to provide 10 to 100 times the data-return capacity of current space radio systems, marking a significant step forward in space communication.
Saalex Corporation’s ELVIS 3 team, a frequent collaborator with NASA’s Launch Services Program (LSP), will play a vital role in the upcoming launch. For this mission, the team will provide services that include program management, mission and engineering integration, spacecraft operations, launch site support, and systems engineering.
“Embarking on the Psyche mission with NASA is a monumental step in space exploration, and our ELVIS 3 team is honored to contribute our expertise,” said Robert Bezduch, President, Saalex Corporation. “Saalex’s involvement in this mission underscores our commitment to advancing the boundaries of human knowledge and exploration.”
From supporting the launch of weather satellites to assisting historic missions to Mars, the Saalex ELVIS 3 team has consistently been at the forefront of space innovation. Its dedication and technical prowess has made it an indispensable partner in the ever-evolving journey of space exploration.
