Saalex Corporation Achieves CMMC Level 2 Certification

Independent Assessment Validates Robust Cybersecurity Controls for Safeguarding Controlled Unclassified Information

Washington, D.C. (January 21, 2026) – Saalex Corporation, a leader in engineering, IT, and technical services for the aerospace, defense, and federal sectors, today announced it has achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2, affirming the company’s compliance with the 110 security requirements (consisting of 320 individual checks) of NIST SP 800-171R2 and its capability to safeguard Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) across operations.

The certification follows successful completion of an independent assessment conducted by a Certified Third-Party Assessor Organization (C3PAO). It validates that Saalex has implemented robust security controls backed by disciplined policy, documented procedures, and a secure GCC High environment purpose-built for handling CUI.

At a time when fewer than 1 percent of Defense Industrial Base organizations have achieved a final CMMC Level 2 certification, Saalex Corporation stands among the first companies to reach this milestone. Government data indicates that only an estimated 431 to 452 organizations have successfully completed the assessment, which represents roughly 0.38 to 0.5 percent of the tens of thousands expected to require certification. By attaining Level 2 ahead of the broader industry, Saalex has demonstrated a level of preparedness that few contractors have achieved. This accomplishment reflects the company’s dedication to meeting evolving Department of Defense requirements and reinforces its position as a trusted and forwardleaning partner for safeguarding Controlled Unclassified Information.

“Achieving CMMC Level 2 Certification demonstrates our unwavering commitment to protecting the mission-critical data entrusted to us by our defense and government customers,” said Travis Mack, Chairman and CEO of Saalex Corporation. “This milestone reflects years of investment in our cybersecurity infrastructure and the dedication of our IT and security teams. As threats to the defense industrial base continue to evolve, we are proud to be among the companies meeting the highest standards for safeguarding sensitive information.”

The CMMC program is a Department of War initiative designed to enhance the protection of sensitive unclassified information within the defense industrial base. Level 2 certification positions Saalex to support a broader range of DoW contracts requiring the handling of CUI, reinforcing the company’s competitive standing in the federal marketplace.

With Level 2 certification secured, Saalex will focus on maintaining its current security posture while building toward CMMC Level 3 certification, which addresses the protection of Controlled Unclassified Information from advanced persistent threats.

Washington, DC and Lexington Park, MD (July 07, 2025) — Saalex Corporation, a leading provider of defense and technology solutions, today announced its acquisition of Greenfield Engineering Corporation. Greenfield is a premier software and systems engineering firm specializing in avionics software development for the U.S. Navy.

This strategic acquisition significantly enhances Saalex’s software development capabilities, particularly in highly specialized avionics software for complex real-time systems. Founded in 2002 and headquartered in Lexington Park, MD, Greenfield has established itself as a trusted partner to NAVAIR with expertise in embedded real-time software development, configuration management, and program management support for naval aviation platforms. The company’s 61 employees will join Saalex Corporation, with integration beginning immediately upon closing July 3, 2025.

“The acquisition of Greenfield Engineering demonstrates the Saalex Corporation commitment to supporting the warfighter and growing our software development capabilities in highly sensitive and secure DOD environments,” said Travis Mack, Chairman and CEO of Saalex Corporation. “I am extremely pleased to continue our expansion and growth in the Patuxent Maryland area.”

Unattended Automation: How the Navy’s Digital Workforce Is Setting a New Course for Operational Excellence

As federal agencies face mounting pressure to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency, the U.S. Navy is setting a powerful example of how technology can help drive these objectives. Through an innovative use of robotic process automation (RPA), the Navy is transforming how it operates, demonstrating a model for other agencies to follow in optimizing their processes without sacrificing the quality of their missions.

The Navy’s strategy emphasizes leveraging technology to automate repetitive tasks that often hinder productivity and divert resources from core responsibilities. At Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), this approach is enhancing workflows and enabling personnel to focus more effectively on mission-critical tasks.

The key innovation driving this approach is what we call “unattended robotic process automation”. Unlike traditional automation that requires human intervention and ties up workstations, unattended RPA operates independently on dedicated virtual machines. This allows these digital workers to function continuously, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without consuming resources that personnel need for their primary responsibilities.

The distinction is critical. While attended automation requires a human to initiate processes and surrender their workstation during execution, unattended automation runs in the background, freeing personnel to focus on complex, mission-critical work that demands human judgment and expertise.

From Mundane to Mission-Critical

What kinds of tasks are being automated? Primarily those that are repetitive, rule-based, and time-consuming. These are exactly the types of work that often frustrate skilled professionals and prevent them from applying their expertise where it matters most.

Consider a simple example: in many organizations, personnel spend countless hours manually processing forms, extracting data from attachments, or performing routine system audits. With unattended RPA, these tasks are assigned to digital workers that perform them with perfect consistency and accuracy, never taking breaks or vacation days.

One particularly powerful application involves enterprise software licenses. Rather than purchasing thousands of expensive licenses for specialized software that might only be used occasionally by personnel, a single “bot” with appropriate permissions can perform these functions for the entire organization. The cost savings from license reduction alone can be substantial, potentially reaching millions of dollars annually for large agencies.

The Human Impact

Perhaps the most significant benefit of this automation strategy has been its impact on personnel. Rather than replacing jobs, it eliminates the mundane, repetitive elements of those jobs. This allows skilled professionals to shift their focus to work that truly requires their expertise—analyzing results, making complex decisions, and developing innovative solutions to emerging challenges.

The result is not just increased efficiency but improved morale. When freed from mind-numbing administrative tasks, personnel report greater job satisfaction and engagement. They can apply their training and experience to meaningful work rather than burning valuable time on routine processes that could be handled by automation.

This human-centered approach to efficiency creates a virtuous cycle. As personnel spend more time on high-value work, the organization benefits from increased innovation and problem-solving capacity. Teams become more agile and responsive, able to address emerging challenges rather than being bogged down in administrative backlogs.

We’ve observed that departments implementing unattended automation often see unexpected benefits beyond the initial efficiency targets. Personnel who previously managed routine processes can develop new skills, including the ability to identify additional automation opportunities and help refine existing solutions. The technology becomes a catalyst for continuous improvement rather than a one-time intervention.

A Model for Federal Efficiency

As agencies across the federal government seek to meet efficiency mandates, the Navy’s approach to automation offers valuable lessons that could inform broader implementation strategies.

The most successful implementations focus on automating specific processes rather than eliminating entire roles. This targeted approach allows agencies to achieve significant efficiency gains while retaining and better utilizing skilled personnel. The work itself becomes more streamlined while preserving the human expertise necessary for complex decision-making.

Looking beyond simple labor hour calculations reveals additional sources of value. While reallocating personnel time generates obvious benefits, substantial savings also come from optimizing resource utilization. The reduction in software licensing costs alone can justify the investment in automation technology, creating a compelling financial case beyond productivity improvements.

Perhaps most importantly, automation works best when it empowers rather than replaces. When positioned as a tool that helps personnel focus on higher-value work, automation typically meets with less resistance and delivers better organizational outcomes. The technology becomes an ally rather than a threat, enhancing human capabilities instead of diminishing them.

That’s not just good for budgets. It’s good for mission success.

Travis Mack is the CEO and Chairman of Saalex Corporation, which supports the development and implementation of robotic process automation solutions for government agencies.

Saalex Corporation Partners with Bayen Group to Deploy AI‑First Accelerator and Advance Digital Transformation

New AI Management System Roadmap Will Unlock Data‑Driven Decision‑Making, Streamline Operations, and Strengthen Support for Federal Customers

WASHINGTON, DC (May 01, 2025) – Saalex Corporation, a leading engineering and information‑technology services provider to U.S. defense and civilian agencies, today announced a strategic partnership with Bayen Group to implement an AI‑First Accelerator that will modernize Saalex’s corporate infrastructure and accelerate its digital‑transformation agenda.

Bayen Group has conducted a comprehensive assessment of Saalex’s business and mission systems, produced a gap analysis, and delivered a multi‑phase roadmap that puts artificial intelligence at the center of future operations. The plan outlines building an enterprise AI management system, creating a secure data lake, and integrating advanced analytics, intelligent workflows, and real‑time performance dashboards across Saalex’s program portfolio.

“AI is the catalyst that will help mid‑market contractors like Saalex deliver the same—or better—value than much larger primes,” said Travis Mack, Chairman and CEO of Saalex Corporation. “By partnering with Bayen Group, we can tap into every bit of data we already collect and turn it into insight our government customers can act on immediately. That means faster decisions, greater efficiency, and better mission outcomes.”

The roadmap positions Saalex to increase its share of AI‑enabled business processes from roughly ten percent today to fifty percent by the end of 2026, enhancing project forecasting, resource allocation, contract reporting, and overall operational resilience. Implementation is already under way, with initial modules expected to go live later this year.
